Laos - Mekong River

After Luang Prabang, we boarded a boat for a two day journey up the Mekong River to the Thai border. It was two long days on a boat with a homestay over night in a tiny town along the way.
This homestay was more what I was expecting than the homestays I had in Vietnam and Cambodia. Our group was split into groups of 3 or 4 and we slept in the homes of the villagers. It gave more of an idea of how the locals lived. We also got to play with some of the kids (and by play I mean we showed them the photos we had on our cameras and phones... they couldn't get enough of it).
